I passed by Mario Batali, who was evidently getting made up for a filming at Samascott"s stand. They have great produce, so it isn't surprising. Beth's Jam's dilly beans are made from Samascott's beans and many of her jams are made from their fruit.
Another chef showed me D&J's fragrant Italian arugula, which looks delicious. Their organic produce is fresh and tasty. Berried Treasure has several string bean varieties and will have more shell beans next weekend. They still have wild blueberries, Tri-Star strawberries, and beautiful flowers. (They won't be in the market this Saturday.)
Sycamore, Cheerful Cherry, Berried Treasure, Norwich, and others have good looking heirloom tomatoes. Ted Blew of Oak Grove has tasty heirlooms, peppers, and white and yellow peaches. Cheerful Cherry has white and yellow peaches, apples and grapes, and delicious cherry juice.
