Zucchini Blossoms, Cherries, Baby Fennel

The Greenmarket is absolutely gorgeous today, with lush greens, cherries in many colors, and greenhouse heirloom tomatoes in reds, greens, yellows, and orange. Cheerful Cherry has delicious sour, dark, and Queen Anne cherries. Locust Grove's cherries and berries are also tasty. Stokes Farm has summer squashes, generous bunches of cut herbs, juicy red greenhouse tomatoes, and salad and other greens. Mountain Sweet Berry has baby rainbow chard, chervil, chives, and tiny potatoes. Northshire has cardoons.

Paffenroth has big bunches of many varieties of carrots, beets, radishes, and baby fennel. Check Norwich for squashes, eggplants, and a wide variety of unique produce. Sycamore has bicolor corn, tomatoes, shell peas, and cucumbers. Cherry Lane has heirloom tomatoes and basil plants. Gorzynski has beautiful organic greens and D'Attolico has lovely zucchini blossoms. Eckerton has great greens, spray-free yellow corn, and heirloom tomatoes.

Quattro's has young heritage chickens, other young chickens, great eggs, and sausages. They've moved from the rise to the Park Avenue end of the market. Look on the rise for Keith's rocambole garlic and other organic vegetables, and for Norwich Farm.
