It's going to be hellishly hot later today, but right now the Greenmarket is cool and beautiful. Summer fruit is in all over the market, with Fantasy Fruit, Locust Grove, Berried Treasures, Oak Grove, and others offering all sorts of berries, peaches, apricots, and watermelon.
S&SO has a wide variety of gorgeous and reasonably priced produce. Paffenroth also is here with delicious produce, and Windfall Farm has tasty greens, edible flowers, and other vegetables. Eckerton has beautiful Cherokee Purple tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, fresh cut herbs, and other greens. I picked up a copy of Tim Stark's new book, HEIRLOOM:NOTES FROM AN ACCIDENTAL TOMATO FARMER, and will be reading it later. (I'm developing quite a shelf of Greenmarket authors, including Keith's IT'S A LONG WAY TO A TOMATO.)
Flora Perfecta has wonderful lilies today and the rose people have beautiful roses, sweet peas, and other flowers.
