ASPARAGUS!!! WATERCRESS!! GORZYNSKI!! ANNA'S TULIPS!!

ASPARAGUS is here, and Hoeffner's got it! Check out Moountain Sweet Berry's first wild baby arugula and ramps and, if you're there at noon when Rick breaks out the watercress, tasty cress!

GORZYNSKY is back with dandelion greens, shallot cress mixed with chickweed, scallions, yellow dock, favabean greens, and other great organic greens. Northshire has wild dandelion and radicchio rosa. I picked up some beautiful sorrel from D'Attiloco, who also has salad greens and sprouts.Paffenroth has upland cress, onion chives, stinging nettles, and watercress and Windfall has a huge array of micro and other greens.

I picked up some eggs from Violet Hill and a beautiful smoked duck from Quattro's (who also have alot of smoked pheasants, ducks, chicken parts). Violet Hill and Quattro's both have excellent poultry. Quattro's also has wild turkey, duck, and pheasant eggs in addition to their excellent chicken eggs.

I bought a beautiful assortment of unusual tulips from Anna of Newfield Farm today. They've moved her to the far west end of the market near 15th street, so keep looking if you miss her at her former spot. Several stands have lovely flowering branches today, including James Durr, Locust Grove, and Terhune.

James Durr has LILACS!!
