Buzzard Krest is here with new and familiar varieties! Cheerful Cherry has champagne grapes! It's Labor Day weekend, so you better start putting up tomatoes and other vegetables and fruits if you haven't already!

Buzzard Crest's new variety
There are plenty of heirloom tomatoes, eggplants, squashes, beans, greens, and other delicious vegetables here today, as well as peaches, nectarines, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries, but those grapes are a sign of the season change, and things will start to lessen after this. Some herbs have gone to seed or sprouted flowers. If you scrape corn off, put it in plastic bags, and freeze it, this is probably the day to do it. My freezer is already full of heirloom and other tomatoes.

Buzzard Krest is in the end spot this week, so Fantasy Fruit has moved down towards 16th Street or so.  Windfall, Locust Grove, and D'Attolico have beautiful zucchini flowers today. I used them last week stuffed with Consider Bardwell's fresh goat cheese (here on Monday) and D'Attolico's candy-sweet cherry tomatoes, sauteed. Delicious.
