Thanks to Mark Bittman for his article on potato recipes in the NY Times Magazine!

I checked out the recipes and they all look good -- so I'm going to make one a week for ten weeks, by which time we'll see the first Spring vegetable, I hope. Maybe ramps!!

You'll find all kinds of great potatoes today at Paffenroth, S&SO, Mountain Sweet Berry, and Norwich Meadows. (S&SO may be gone after next weekend, by the way.) Cayuga has excellent dried beans -- check to see how long you should soak them as they are pretty fresh and will probably not need overnight soaking.  Modesto recommends the yellow eye beans, in case you want to experiment.

Grazin' has soup stock in addition to their meat and milk offerings and Roaming Acres is here with meats as well. Violet Hill has pork, chicken, and eggs, and Oak Grove has pork and beef.  Flying Pig has pork cuts and chickens and Quattro's has a wide range of poultry and game, sausages, soups, and poultry parts. Three Corner Field Farm has lamb, cheeses, and yogurt, and Tonjes has cheeses, buttermilk, yogurt, and other milk products.

Two Guys has hydroponic greens and oyster mushrooms and Windfall has root vegetables and greens. Shushan has hydroponic tomatoes and herbs.  There are several orchards including Locust Grove, Caradonna, and Terhune here with apples, pears, and cider.

To see these and other stands and products:
