I was shocked to hear that the Christmas market will open next week but that the Farmers may still be displaced to Madison Square. Surely now that it is colder the trucks could be moved to school yards like the one on Greenwich Ave for PS 41 or the one in the 20's on Second Avenue. The people who came to help us are wonderful, but the farmers who came to Union Square the week after 9/11 were and are wonderful too. Anyone with a memory bigger than that of a gnat will remember that during a horrific time after the terror attack these people came, fed New Yorkers (some, like Windfall, for free), and gave us our courage back just by struggling into the city and giving us a feeling of normalcy.
They're doing it again today!!!
