It's High Summer and Tomatoes and Melons are King!

Peaches, too! and Plums!! Kernan, Locust, Oak Grove, Terhune, and others have peaches today. Caradonna and Locust also have a wide variety of plums and berries.  Oak Grove, Bodhitree, and others have all kinds of melon, and heirloom tomatoes are everywhere, including at Stokes, Bodhitree, Oak Grove, Keith, Eckerton, S and SO, Sycamore and others. Mountain Sweet Berry and Berried Treasures have delicious Tri-Star strawberries and Fantasy Fruit and Phillips have blueberries and strawberries. Several farmstands have corn, including Sycamore, Paffenroth, and Cherry Lane.

There are plenty of greens in the market, especially at Paffenroth, S&SO, Miglorelli, and Two Guys. Madura and Bulich have several kinds of mushroom and there are squashes and squash blossoms everywhere, particularly at Windfall and Bodhitree.

Mountain Sweet Berry has tasty strawberry sorbet and Ronnybrook has many of their great ice cream flavors. Hot Bread Kitchen and Our Daily Bread are here and Andrew's Honey is as well.I went a little gaga at the flower stands and ended up with fragrant roses from Rose Meadow and beautiful lycianthus and gladiolas from Dutchmill.

To see these and other stands and products:                          Greenmarket Wednesday, August 15
