Norwich is here today with some interesting vegetables, including fennel, various greens, and root vegetables. In addition, they have some unusual pickles and preserves, among them husk tomato jam! They will be here until December 22 and then will be back in February.
If you love winter squash and brussels sprouts, this is your lucky day! Ted Blew (Oak Grove Farm) has several kinds of squash and the stand across from his has plenty of sprouts. Paffenroth has great potatoes and other root vegetables and S&SO has squash and other produce. Gorzynski is here with organic vegetables and Stokes is on the Park Ave end with herb wreaths, cut fresh herbs, and tasty herb vinegar. Mountain Sweet Berry has crosnes and several delicious tiny potato varieties, as well as gorgeous Christmas wreaths and garland. If you want a taste of Spring in this cold day, try Beth's pickled ramps and fiddleheads!
There are several orchards with cider and apples. Oak Grove has many good looking pies and pastries and Breezy Hill has their delicious apple pastries as well.
Quattro's is here with ducks, BIG chickens, Cornish game hens, and sausage. Flying Pig has many pork products and Violet Hill has sausage, bacon, and other meats.
