Last of Dutchmill's Parrot Tulips Today!!

I had to buy more of Dutchmill's wonderful tulips, since today is the last time we'll see those this year! I picked up some donuts from Race and the first bluefish of the season from PE&DD.  I checked out the elk meat at Raghoo and think I might try their elk burger next Monday, although Roaming Acres bison also looks interesting.  Central Valley has good-looking mozzarella and Rising Sun beef has several kinds of steak and other cuts.  Lani has young shallots and garlic -- I bought some shallots to have with my bluefish tonight.  Phillips was apparently the only stand with asparagus today, but Madura has a variety of produce as well as many kinds of mushroom.

Delicious pastries, elegant Italian cheeses, tasty pickles, gorgeous old fashioned irises!

Friday's market is getting pretty wonderful, with Bodhitree's mixed purple and green asparagus, Samascott's rhubarb, Dutchmill's old fashioned irises, Divine Brine's many pickle varieties, and Las Delicias's excellent pastries.  There are Binder's vegetable and flowering plant flats, Beth's wide variety of jams, Queens County Farm Museum's salad mix, Berried Treasures sunchokes, Lucky Dog's fiddleheads, and Mountain Sweet Berry's unique potato chips.  There are plenty of ramps and asparagus offerings from many stands and Rose Meadow has beautiful unusual anemones today.

Rain has kept a few stands home, but many are here.

I bought flounder filet from PE&DD, young shallots and garlic from Lani, cheese from Consider Bardwell, and yogurt from Hammond Dairy (who has started to bring in drinkable yogurt as well).  Race is here with many flowering and other plants as well as honey and baked goods. Madura has many vegetables, mushrooms, and flowering plants. Lani has edible flowers, greens, scapes, cut herbs, and salad greens, along with various kinds of onion family items.  Hudson Valley Duck Farm has smoked duck breast this week along with ducks and other duck products.
