Charentais Melon, Lemongrass, Artichokes!

Berried Treasures has many kinds of tasty beans, including flageolet, green and yellow romano, haricots verts, and a shelling bean called something like perignon (which looks like the "violette" bean in my Larousse). They also have blackberries and other berries. Yuno and Oak Grove both have a wide variety of hot and sweet peppers and squashes and Oak Grove has peaches. Cheerful Cherry has sour cherries, luscious peaches, and heirloom tomatoes. You can't go wrong with heirloom tomatoes from Cheerful, Norwich Farm, Sycamore, and Oak Grove. Stokes has fresh lemongrass, lemon verbena and other generous bunches of cut herbs, tomatoes, and other produce. Norwich and Muddy River have baby artichokes and Norwich has Charentais melons in addition to many other varieties. By the way, there were no lima beans in the market today, but check Cherry Lane on Saturday or Yuno on Monday.

I just tried 2% milk from Milk Thistle Farm --it tastes fine and is organic. They're in Union Square on Fridays and at Grand Army Plaza on Saturdays, as well as other Greenmarkets.
