Charentais Melons, Heirloom Tomatoes, Big Bunches of Basil

Norwich says this is probably the last weekend for their excellent Charentais melons. They have several other kinds of melon as well as their gorgeous heirloom tomatoes. Cheerful Cherry has tasty heirloom tomatoes, good-looking cucumbers, and, sadly, their tasty grapes, signalling the slope down towards Fall. Muddy River has big bunches of Genovese basil, great for making pesto for the freezer. Sycamore says they'll have second delivery fresh picked corn tomorrow, and they're here today with corn, tomatoes, heirloom tomatoes, and other great produce.

Berried Treasure has several unique types of bean, including many shelling varieties as well as haricots verts, Romanos, purple string beans, and yellow and green string beans. They also have delicious wild blueberries and Tri-Star strawberries. Oak Grove has peaches, watermelons, a wide variety of hot and sweet peppers, and some of the most succulent ready to eat heirloom tomatoes in the Greenmarket.

Dancing Ewe has the last of their sheep's milk ricotta today as well as one of the best hard cheeses in the market. Next week will be their last week in the market until October, when they will be back with lamb.

Newfield Farm has beautiful gladiolas, lycianthus, sunflowers, and other summer beauties, and River Garden has gorgeous wildflowers in bunches and bouquets.
