The big news is that although it is already unpleasantly hot and sticky out, almost all of our farmers are here!! I'm trying one of S&SO's artichokes today, and enjoying some melon from Norwich Farm, Oak Grove, and others, together with berries from Locust Grove and peaches from Nemith and Oak Grove. Terhune has white and yellow peaches and berries. Locust has white and red currants and berries. Fantasy Fruit was NOT here when I went through. Hoeffner has tomatoes and other produce and Sycamore has bicolor corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, heirloom tomatoes, and basil. Stokes has squashes, peppers, lettuces, field tomatoes, and heirloom tomatoes. Norwich Meadows has luscious watermelons, Cavaillon melons, and other melons in addtion to a wide variety of peppers, eggplants, beans, and leafy greens.
Mountain Sweet Berry has strawberries, haricots verts and jaunes, sucrine lettuce, wild arugula, and other produce. Windfall Farm has mini, micro, and other greens, squashes, and edible flowers. Northshire Farm has calaloo, wild watercress, and Japanese eggplants. Paffenroth is here with fennel, celery, many kinds of beets, radishes, carots, and herbs, as well as potatoes, purslane, and other interesting produce. Violet Hill is here with Belle Rouge chickens and eggs. Quattro's has a wide range of poultry, smoked poultry, sausages, and eggs.
Dutch Mill Garden (Newfield) has beautiful lycianthus, zinnias, gladiolas, and sunflowers. River Garden has lovely wildflower bouquets. Durr has gladiolas and other flowers and Duva has lilies.
