There are many beautiful vegetables, fruits, and other items in the Monday Greenmarket, including Roaming Acres bison, PE&DD seafood, lavender, delicious baked goods at Las Delicias, breads at She Wolf, and flowers at Dutchmill and River Garden.

Better get out there and shop now, if you can. It's already 79 degrees and getting humid!  I'm glad I had the foresight to stock up on gazpacho ingredients over the weekend!

Norwich Meadows has beautiful heirloom tomatoes, fresh local ginger, several kinds of shelling beans, okras, peppers, eggplants, strawberries, raspberries, squashes, and masses of melons!

Race is here with tasty peaches and other stone fruit in addition to many fresh vegetables. Phillips has raspberries, blackberries, peaches, and other fruits in addition to melons, onions, potatoes, squashes, beans, greens, and other produce.

Madura has mushrooms and popcorn in addition to various vegetables. Truncillito has peaches, blue plums, and other fruit.

Paradise for hot pepper fans as Oak Grove, Eckerton, and S&SO bring wide unique selections to the market today. Others with interesting varieties include Stokes and Norwich Farms.

Other stands have smaller selections of excellent hot and sweet peppers.

It's still Peach and Plum fest at Locust Grove, Miglorelli, Caradonna, and others. Norwich has the widest variety of shelling beans and Oak Grove, Norwich, Miglorelli, Cherry Lane, and others have many kinds of eggplant and squash.

There are still several interesting kinds of heirloom tomato at Eckerton, Cherry Lane, Sycamore, Oak Grove, Stokes, Keith, and others. Mountain Sweet Berry, D'Attolico, Eckerton, and Cherry Lane, among others, also have great sauce tomatoes.

Toigo has white and yellow nectarines and white and yellow peaches. Oak Grove also has white and yellow peaches. Enjoy them while the season lasts!

Good news -- Toigo says they will have peaches into September! They also have plums, nectarines, and tomatoes.  Samascott still has blueberries along with peaches, apples, and vegetables.

There are beautiful heirloom tomatoes at Sycamore, Campo Rosso, Berried Treasures, Lucky Dog, and Norwich Meadows. Norwich also has a wide selection of squashes, eggplants, peppers, lettuces, and melons.

 Miglorelli has corn, peaches, squashes, and other produce.  Berried Treasures has several kinds of fresh shelled beans including flageolets. Miglorelli, Norwich, and Oak Grove have tomatillos, and Norwich has locally grown ginger!

Consider Bardwell has several prize winning cheeses including "Manchester", a delicious hard style goat cheese.  Beth's Farm Kitchen has many tasty chutneys, jams, and fruit syrups, and a selection of barbecue, not, and ketchup sauces.

 Eckerton, Cherry Lane, Stokes, Mountain Sweet Berry, and others have gorgeous San Marzano and other sauce tomatoes for canning and freezing. Do it now while they're still at peak!

Bodhitree has many kinds of bean, squash, eggplant, cut herbs, and greens. S&SO and Oak Grove have tomatillos, S&SO has artichokes, and Stokes and Oak Grove have husk "cherries".

 Oak Grove and Eckerton have many of their excellent hot and sweet peppers and many stands have a variety of eggplants, including fairy tale (tiny purple striped), and summer squashes.

Blue plums, grapes, a chill in the morning air. One more week for Toigo's delicious peaches. Sad to say, I know what's coming.

So...carpe diem! Seize the beautiful peaches, plums, nectarines, heirloom tomatoes, shelling beans, eggplants, squashes, while ye may!  Summer melons, too!

Toigo , Samascott, and Oak Grove, among others, have slurpy delicious peaches today.  Toigo also has nectarines and many kinds of plum.  I found two perfect Aunt Ruby heirloom tomatoes among a selection of good looking heirlooms at Sycamore, a couple of excellent cucumbers at Norwich, and beautiful hot peppers at Oak Grove. Gazpacho!  Berried Treasures and Norwich have beautiful string beans and shelling beans -- a friend I met in the market is making succatash with Berried Treasures haricots verts and corn from Miglorelli.

I picked up some classic blue plums from Toigo and am planning to make a plum cake.  I'll be having peaches from Oak Grove and blueberries from Samascott with Old Chatham vanilla bean yogurt for breakfast today.  Bodhitree and Norwich have tasty melons today, so I may have them for dessert tomorrow. I have prosciutto from Eately to eat on the Cavaillon (Charentais, they call it at Norwich) mini-melon.

There is wonderful fresh fish at Pura Vida, fresh young greens at Campo Rosso, prizewinning cheese at Consider Bardwell, sweet gelato at Ole Mother Hubbert, and gorgeous produce everywhere in the market today.

Norwich Meadows has bargain eggplants, peppers, and heirloom tomatoes for $2 a pound. They looked perfectly fine to me -- good for gazpacho, for instance.

Old Mother Hubbert has several kinds of gelato and many farmers, including Lani, Phillips, and others,  have good looking melons of all kinds. Red Jacket has their delicious fruit juices and many kinds of peach and plum, and Troncillito has donut peaches, regular yellow and white peaches, and plums.

Fantasy Fruit has blueberries and Tri-Star strawberries, and Race has several kinds of stone fruit as well as vegetables and good looking boxes of mixed peppers.  Eckerton has several sizes of heirloom tomato as well as many kinds of hot peppers.

Lani has several types of basil and other cut herbs as well as eggplants, heirloom tomatoes, squashes, long beans, and several unique greens. Norwich has many varieties of shelling bean, string bean, and melons, along with baby artichokes, tomatillos, and other interesting produce.  Madura has various mushrooms and Blue Oyster has interesting new varieties of oyster mushroom, including pink!

Last day for Phillips blueberries! Last day for Durr's beautiful lycianthus! Grapes at Caradonna and Locust Grove (first sign of Autumn's approach).

Seatuck and PE&DD have beautiful fresh fish and seafood, Quattro's and Violet Hill have wonderful poultry, and Flying Pig has tasty pork cuts, roasts, and sausages.

Violet Hill has good looking foraged mushrooms and greens as well as rabbits, Belle Rouge chickens, pork products, eggs, and honey. Quattro's has smoked poultry, pheasants, ducks and duck parts, and duck, chicken, and other eggs.

Oak Grove, Caradonna, and others have delicious white and yellow peaches, and Caradonna, Phillips, Fantasy Fruit, Hodgsons, and others have berries. Norwich Meadows has raspberries, strawberries, many kinds of string bean, many kinds of shelling beans, eggplants, peppers, heirloom tomatoes, and greens. They also have several kinds of melon.  Van Houten also has melons as well as other produce, and Cherry Lane has melons, fairytale and other eggplants, and corn.

Lani has shelling beans, unique greens, herbs, and heirloom tomatoes.  Mountain Sweet Berry has heirloom sauce tomatoes, Tri-Star strawberries, sucrine lettuces, and cut herbs as well as small potatoes.
