Sycamore is back!!! with the first of their delicious strawberries. Stokes, Cherry Lane, Eckerton, Phillips, and others also have good looking strawberries.

Stokes, Cherry Lane, Hoeffner, and others have asparagus, and Gorzynski, Hoeffner, Locust Grove, and others have rhubarb. Northshire and Violet Hill have mushrooms --morels!

Stokes and Cherry Lane have hothouse tomatoes and Stokes, Lani, Mountain Sweet Berry, and others have big bunches of cut herbs.  Windfall has unusual edible flowers, mini-greens, and herbs. Tamarack has fiddlehead ferns and Mountain Sweet Berry has pickled ramps. Beth's Farm Kitchen has pickled ramps and asparagus as well as their tasty jams, syrups, chutneys, and sauces.

Stokes and others have luscious looking strawberries and Samascott and Stokes have delicous asparagus.

Pura Vida has many varieties of fresh fish and Berried Treasures has ramps, small potatoes, and pine needles (!).  Dutchmill has the last of their gorgeous peonies and Rose Meadow has sweet peas, roses and other flowers.  Oak Grove has beautiful heirloom tomato plants and mixed herb window gardens. Campo Rosa has beautiful lettuces, other greens, and chervil.

Keith is back! with young Rocambole garlic and other goodies.

It's an asparagus lover's Paradise today, with several stands having delicious varieties, including Stokes, Cherry Lane, Hoeffner, Lani, S&SO and others. Stokes, Cherry Lane, and others have strawberries, and Eckerton, Paffenroth, and others have baby lettuces and mesclun. D'Attolico, Lani, and Eckerton have lettuces. Stokes and S& SO have greenhouse tomatoes. Violet

Rain, rain, go away!! Got caught in a downpour, but managed to find lots of good Spring vegetables and flowers, so it was worth it.

Stokes, S&SO, Hoeffner, Cherry Lane, and others have gorgeous asparagus. Hoeffner and Gorzynski have RHUBARB. Eckerton has lovely lettuces and other unique greens and Lani and Windfall have beautiful salad and mini-greens.

Fiori di Fenice has tulips, hyacinths, and lilies. Durr has Old fashioned irises, lilies of the valley, peonies, tulips, and flowering branches. Stokes, Phillips, Binder, and Van Houten have flowering plants and sets, and Oak Grove and Binder have lush herb plants. Silver Heights and Oak Grove have many kinds of heirloom tomato plants.

Tamarack and others have fiddlehead ferns and Violet Hill, Northshire,  and Mountain Sweet Berry have plenty of ramps.  Bulich has a wide array of tasty looking mushrooms.  Omelet, anyone?  (Quattro's has delicious pheasant eggs and Violet Hill and Windfall have many kinds of chicken eggs.)

Beautiful asparagus, fiddleheads, and ramps all around the market today.

Some good looking mushrooms at Madura and Blue Oyster. It's Springtime pasta primavera and fritata season!

Toigo has some interesting French tomatoes as well as other tasty varieties. Samascott and Queens County Farm have rhubarb. There were strawberries at Bodhitree this morning but they were gone by 9AM again! It's a welcome tease, but just a tease so far, I guess.

By the way, I had lunch at Union Square Cafe today and had delicious food made with ingredients I saw Chef buying early in the morning. It's not often that you can recognize your fiddleheads and ramps!

RHUBARB at Eckerton and Gorzynski! Fiddleheads at Tamarack and Garden of Spices! Beautiful asparagus at Stokes, Hoeffner, Cherry Lane, S&SO, and others.

PEONIES at Durr, along with irises, flowering branches, and tulips. Gorgeous lilies at Fiori, along with unique tulips and scented hyacinths. Rose Meadow has beautiful mixed bouquets of unusual flowers, poppies, anemones, and other flowers.

Garlic scapes at Norwich, along with new season salad greens. Spinach and sweet potatoes at Cherry Lane and baby spinach at other stands.  Wild foraged greens at Violet Hill.

Pheasant and other poultry eggs, pheasants chicken and chicken parts, smoked poultry, sausages, and other delicious options at Quattro's. Pork, lamb, rabbit, and other proteins at Violet Hill. Sausages, pork cuts, liverwurst, and bacons at Flying Pig.

Fiddlehead ferns at Berried Treasures, asparagus at Samascott, Bodhitree, and others. Beautiful mushrooms at Blue Oyster, young garlic at Norwich (there were garlic scapes there, too, but most were gone at 8:30!)

The market is full of lovely young greens, interesting breads, and beautiful yarns. Stokes, Binder, Oak Grove and others have herb and flowering plant sets, and Oak Grove and Stokes have great heirloom tomato plants.

B&Y Farms is there with many lamb cuts as well as Cornish game hens. Roaming Acres has bison, ostrich, and other meats, and Pura Vida has luscious looking fresh fish.

CHERRY LANE is back with their excellent ASPARAGUS!! Tamarack has FIDDLEHEADS! There are RAMPS at Mountain Sweet Berry, Violet Hill, Lani, and others! It's SPRING!!!!!

Stokes, Cherry Lane, Hoeffner and others have asparagus. There is a table without a sign across from Locust Grove that has fiddleheads.  You'll find stinging nettles at a few stands.  Northshire has arugula flowers and Windfall has many kinds of edible flowers.

Eckerton has gorgeous lettuces today! I don't know about you, but my idea of a finishing touch to a lunch today would be mushrooms with mushroom pasta, and I'm happy to see that Bulich has a wide selection today. D'Attolico has young garlic.
