Cheerful Cherry is back with a wide variety of plants! Fresh chickpeas at Lani's! Beautiful beans at Norwich Meadows! Sweet cherry tomatoes at Stokes!

Last day for Hodgson's peonies until next year!  James Durr has lovely bunches of cultivated wildflowers and Rose Meadow has beautiful baby's breath and other flowers. River Garden also has unique and pretty flowers.  Lavender By the Bay is also here with various lavender items.

Quattro's still has a variety of poultry eggs, including pheasant, duck, and turkey, along with chicken eggs and many kinds of poultry, including pheasant, chicken, duck, and others.  Violet Hill has lamb today along with chicken, pork, and eggs.

Mountain Sweet Berry has purple snow peas and sweet sugar snaps, along with sucrine (red and green), chervil, baby arugula, other greens, and Tri-Star strawberries.

Cherry Lane still has asparagus, Stokes still has strawberries, and Locust Grove has brought in red currants, raspberries, strawberries, and red and yellow cherries.

Other stands with strawberries include Tri-stars at Berried Treasures, Fantasy Fruit,  and Mountain Sweet Berry, and Terhune, Caradonna, and Eckerton have other varieties.  Bodhitree, Windfall, and Eckerton have wide varieties of unique greens and salads, and several stands have new garlic and red and white onions. Mountain Sweet Berry also has red and green sucrine, and Sycamore has strawberries, tomatoes, kirbys, cucumbers, and basil. Hoeffner has rhubarb and Madura has asparagus. Caradonna has cherries and other fruit.

Bulich has many kinds of mushrooms and Two Guys has mushrooms and hydroponic greens.  Tamarack also has many greens as well as fresh eggs.

Fantasy Fruit is back with strawberries! Gorzynski has beautiful lettuces! Eckerton has Treviso radicchio! D'Attolico has several flavored hummus varieties.

Squashes have arrived at Norwich Meadows, Cherry Lane, and many other stands. Stokes has their flavorful cherry tomatoes and Cherry Lane has several kinds of heirloom tomatoes. Stokes also has excellent young garlic and many cut herbs and greens.

It's the last week for Oak Grove's terrific heirloom tomato plants. They still have beautiful pepper plants as well as many potted herbs. Silver Heights also has beautiful herb, flower, and fruit sets for gardeners.

Locust Grove has cherries and strawberries.  Several other stands, including Sycamore and Eckerton, have strawberries also. Mountain Sweet Berry has Tri-stars and various unique greens, and they and Northshire have sucrine lettuces.Locust Grove has CURRANTS!

Summer vegetables and fruits are starting to come in. If you are a fan of asparagus and strawberries, you should be having them now, since field strawberries and asparagus are almost over.

Last strawberries at Cherry Lane! Last asparagus at Hoeffner! First blueberries at Kernan. Lots of fava beans at many stands, including Kernan, Eckerton, and Sycamore.

Several stands have English shelling peas and sugar snaps.  Mountain Sweet Berry has ripe Tri-stars and unripe Tri-stars for pickling.

Eckerton, Paffenroth, Miglorelli, Stokes, and others have salad and other greens, and Stokes has good looking fresh garlic, as do Madura and others.

Last asparagus at Stokes! Last peonies at Durr! Fava beans are in at Lani, Eckerton, Norwich. Strawberries are sweet at Sycamore, Stokes, Eckerton, Cherry Lane, Norwich, and others.

Tri-Stars, lamborne, sucrine lettuce, and other goodies at Mountain Sweet Berry.  Sycamore has rhubarb to go with their strawberries for a Father's Day pie.  Gorzynski also has rhubarb, along with their delicious organic produce. Norwich Meadow and Cherry Lane have snow peas!
Lani has gorgeous string beans, lettuces, and unique greens. Windfall has beautiful edible flowers, minigreens, various mesclunes, and arugulas. Windfall, Violet Hill, and Quattro's all have wonderful eggs, and Quattro's has duck, pheasant, and other eggs and poultry.

Las Delicias bakery is now on the 17th St. section across from Barnes and Noble. Sycamore is back with delicious strawberries! Berried Treasures and Mountain Sweet Berry have chervil and lambs quarters.

Last day for Bodhitree's asparagus! They still have plenty of strawberries, lettuce and other salad greens, cut herbs, fava beans, and other tasty vegetables.

Eckerton also has fava beans, as well as shelling peas and sugar snap peas.  Windfall has gorgeous edible flowers, including beautiful little roses!

Sycamore is back! (with strawberries, rhubarb, and basil) Hodgson's is back with peonies! Cherry Lane's sugar snaps! Mountain Sweet Berry's tri-star strawberries are here!

Stokes has their delicious cherry tomatoes and asparagus today, as well as generous bunches of cut herbs, great hydroponic lettuces, and beautiful potted plants.  Oak Grove has potted sunflowers, an excellent variety of heirloom tomato and pepper plants, and lush herb plants. Silver Heights has vegetable and herb potted plants and Binder has a wide choice of herbs in pots as well.

There are several varieties of strawberry around the market and it's difficult to choose, as I found out when I ended up with three kinds myself! Cherry Lane, Phillips, Sycamore, Lani, Stokes, and others have various large kinds and Mountain Sweet Berry has the first of their Tri-stars.
I'm eating Stokes Farm's cherry tomatoes like candy. So tomatoey and sweet! I picked up some fava beans from Eckerton, where there were also tempting lettuces, other greens, and radishes, as well as sugar snaps.  Several stands, including Eckerton, Lani, Norwich Meadows, and others have good-looking salad mixes, and Paffenroth has puntarelle, mizuna, and other choices.

"Grab your friends and family and come join us at the Union Square Greenmarket this Friday night for A Summer Night with Greenmarket Chefs. Our farmers will stick around until 8 pm and we've invited in some of the best restaurants in the city to serve you delicious seasonal dishes while you shop for strawberries, sugar snap peas and local honey. The event is FREE and open to the public, dishes and drinks are sold from individual stands.
There will also be a beer garden where you can grab a glass of beer, wine or cider to sip on while you listen to the stylings of great Latin Jazz percussionist, Ray Mantilla."

Tasty watercress at Mountain Sweet Berry, Berried Treasures, and Paffenroth.  Gorgeous salad greens at Eckerton and Stokes, among others. Several stands have sorrel and stinging nettles.

Great strawberries at Cherry Lane, Bodhitree, Phillips, and others. Kernan is here with asparagus and sugar snap peas. Paffenroth, Windfall, and others have tasty unique greens, and Windfall has gorgeous edible flowers, minigreens, and sprouts.
