Tulips! get them now before their season ends! Ramps! at Violet Hill, Mountain Sweet Berry and other stands. New lettuces and wintered-over broccoli rabe are everywhere!

Stokes, Lani, Northshire and others have tasty new season salad greens. Try Stokes's "wasabi arugula" if you get there in time. It's delicious!

They and Northshire have pretty new lettuces and Lani has a wide range of salad greens and young garlic.  D'attolico, Hudson Valley Organic, and Windfall have interesting small greens and pea and other sprouts.

The asparagus drumbeats are getting louder! Look for some to arrive soon -- maybe next week! Can strawberries be far behind?

TOIGO is back, with delicious canned peaches, apple and pear butter, apples, and tomatoes! Bodhitree has lovely greens and Berried Treasures, Lucky Dog, and others have RAMPS.

Rumors of asparagus are in the air, although not quite here yet, but there are more and more leafy greens, green garlic, green shallots, and other signs of good things to come.

It's RAMPALICIOUS at Mountain Sweet Berry, Berried Treasures, Max, and other stands. Rogowski and Madura have green garlic and Bodhitree has a wide variety of delicious salad greens and other greens.

The restaurant foragers were enthusiastically shopping while I was in the market, so the young garlic, ramps, broccoli rabe and other greens may be disappearing as I write.  S&SO has beautiful chives and Oak Grove has gorgeousl lush tomato plants and herb sets for city gardeners, as well as small mixed potted herb gardens for window sills.

Bulich and Madura have several kinds of mushroom and Two Guys has shitakes and oyster mushrooms. Two Guys and Shushan have hydroponic greens and herbs and Shushan has cherry and other tomatoes.

I'm going to be making a mixed green salad and a broccoli rabe and ramp omelet for lunch today, using Bodhitree eggs, Miglorelli's broccoli rabe, and a few crimini mushrooms from Bulich.

It's RAMPTASTIC at Mountain Sweet Berry! D'Attolico has duckweed and chickweed, and Eckerton has wintered-over small carrots and beautiful French Breakfast radishes.

It's peak tulip season at Fiori di Fenice and other stands as well, and Durr has beautiful flowering branches along with parrot and other tulips and daffodils.

Violet Hill has multi-colored eggs and Quattro's has goose, duck, pheasant, and chicken eggs as well as capons for the holiday and other poultry. Violet Hill has Belle Rouge chickens and rabbits and rabbit parts.

Lani has beautiful salad greens and Shushan has hydroponic tomatoes and cherry tomatoes as well as herbs.  Bulich has several types of mushroom and Two Guys has shitake and oyster mushrooms as well as hydroponic greens and minigreens.  Windfall has many kinds of small and mini-greens, aracuna chicken eggs, and Jerusalem artichokes.

Holy Schmitt has fresh HORSERADISH and prepared horseradish in several flavors. Lani has RAMPS! Dutchmill has gorgeous tulips.

Lani has lovely salad and other greens, black soy beans, and young shallots.  Holy Schmitt has fresh horseradish roots for the brave who do their own and tasty flavored varieties as well.

Ardith Mae has a new delicious yet to be named goat cheese! Eckerton has mache! D'Attolico has tasty hummus, lovely sprouts, and pussy willows. Oak Grove has heirloom tomato plants for home gardens.

Northshire has tasty lettuce and other greens and Gorzynski has cress-like greens.

Several stands have beautiful tulips, including Fiori di Fenice, Durr, and Phillips.  Rose Meadow has sweet peas, anemones, and roses. Durr, D'Attolico, Phillips, and Locust Grove have flowering branches.

Quattro's, Violet Hill, and Windfall have unique egg options, with pheasant eggs at Quattro's, Duck and many kinds of chicken eggs at Violet Hill, and Arucunas at Windfall.

Windfall, Eckerton, Lani, and others have small salad and other greens. Eckerton has French breakfast radishes (I was too late for their baby carrots). Seatuck and PE&DD have gorgeous fresh fish and seafood.

Magnolias! Daffodils! Tulips! and Bobolink has HAND MADE MATZOS!!!

 Matzo like Great Great Grandma used to make!!You can buy singles or boxes of ten. Madura has fresh horseradish.
It's not the holiday yet, though, so you can get three kinds of challah at Hot Bread Kitchen, along with mini and regular bialys and other breads.
Consider Bardwell has veal and Dorset cheese is on sale.
Bodhitree, Lucky Dog, and Queens County Farm have lovely salad greens and there are whispers of ramps and asparagus coming soon now that the weather is finally cooperating.

Berried Treasures is back -- with delicious looking potatoes for the moment.  The folks at Samascott are warning that we'll probably have a short season of Spring vegetables when they finally show up!

Binder and Hoeffner are back with beautiful flowering and herb plant sets. Stokes also has lovely plant sets, both flowers and herbs

 Violet Hill and Quattro's have goose eggs, and Quattro's has pheasant and wild turkey eggs as well as chicken eggs. Violet Hill has many varieties of chicken egg. All very Spring-y, finally!

Divine Brine is back with all kinds of pickles. Two Guys has edible flowers. Look for baby spinach, salad greens and other signs of Spring!

Dutchmill has lovely tulips and Rose Meadow has beautiful roses and anemones. Terhune and others have flowering branches.

In addition to their delicious greens, Bodhitree has excellent eggs and cut herbs.  Don't miss Andrew's Honey, Las Delicias sweet and savory pastries, and Rogowski's green vegetables and other produce.  Miglorelli has frozen summer vegetables, tomato juice, cider, and apples. Madura is here with various produce and Mountain Sweet Berry has their excellent small potatoes.
